These two chucks are considered to be similar because they are both basically the same in design concept except that the poles run lengthwise in one case and across the chuck in the other. One chuck would be selected over the other with consideration being given to the direction of poles suited to the nature of the work being held. These chucks, being special in design, offer superb holding power, but because they are custom made, we would only recommend them when careful investigation has shown that one of our standard chucks will definitely not fit the application. Selection of either of these designs should only be made with the assistance of our Engineering Department.
