and wires; they also have the added advantage of being usable in many areas
where electricity is not available.
BATTERY POWERED LIFT MAGNETS
For Flat And Round Material Handling
Battery magnets
use their own power source and can be turned on or off using either I.R. Remote Transmitter or
by push button. Models include:
WBP-7 & WBP-15 BI-POLAR SERIES CORDLESS REMOTE CONTROLLED
Designed for Flat, Round and Shaped Material Handling, the special feature of this battery bi-polar magnet is the unique design of the pole
shoe, that enables it to handle a wide variety of structural shapes and rounds.
ELECTROMAGNETS
Circular Electric Lift Magnets - For Flat Material Handling
A CER magnet is the least costly but most powerful magnet available. Due to the deep penetration of its magnetic field, it is less susceptible to adverse surface conditions than any other self-contained magnet.
- CER5, 7, 9, 12, 16 and 20
Circular Electric Magnets (CER) use
a recessed “ON-OFF-Release” switch. A remote option is also available. They feature a Low-carbon steel body for maximum magnetic performance and have a built-in solid state rectifier that permits operation from 115 volt AC outlet.

ELECTRO-PERMANENT
- Electro-Permanent
Walker has been designing and manufacturing Electro-Permanent devices since 1960. These magnets utilize permanent magnet material surrounded by an electrically powered coil.

to provide maximum lift performance throughout the working day.
.
LIFTMASTER® SERIES
Cast Case, Aluminum Coil
- LIFTMASTER® SERIES
Walker Liftmaster® series magnets have been designed and engineered for
scrap processing operations. Latest state-of-the-art materials combined
with the most modern manufacturing methods make the Walker LiftmasterŽ series
one of the most advanced magnets on the market today.
The LiftmasterŽ series magnet has a rugged cast case, heavy rolled manganese bottom plate,
deep field construction and tough 3 leg alloy chains for maximum durability. All elements
are designed for top operation efficiency, with deadweight engineered out to achieve high
lift-to-weight ratio.
LM SERIES
Special Purpose Scrap Handling and Track Sweeping
- LM SERIES
The LM series magnet is a low-cost, lightweight magnet designed primarily for
light-duty service and applications in the railroad industry. A unique combination
of materials and construction techniques results in a reduced weight and cost.
Despite the low cost, the LM series magnet is engineered for high reliability,
low maintenance, and field serviceability. Terminal boxes and external power
leads are easily accessible for routine maintenance.
RLSD SERIES
Heavy Duty Rectangular
- RLSD Series
Rectangular shaped scrap magnets are the newest development from Walker
Magnetics. Designed to lift large volumes of scrap in and out of confined
areas, these powerful magnets are becoming the standard in melt shops around the world.
They can help you keep your new high capacity furnaces full. Since new furnaces
refine metal fast, they need more scrap to process. A Walker RLSD adds up to 50%
more lift capacity to each load. Unlike round magnets that can't lift scrap out of
corners effectively, the RLSD is designed to get into corners of railroad cars and
clean them out.
HEATMASTER STEEL MILL MAGNETS
Move Hot Steel Directly from the Cooling Bed with No Downtime
- THE HEATMASTER
Time spent waiting for hot steel to cool down so it can be moved is wasted time.
So is time spent handling steel with mechanical methods. With Heatmaster® Steel
Mill Magnets, there's no wasted time. Hot steel can be moved quickly and easily,
from the moment it leaves the casting bed.
GRABBER SERIES
Billet Lifting and Bundle Handling Magnets
- THE GRABBER
Because billets are seldom perfectly straight or flat, air gaps often
exist between the billets to be lifted and the magnet. Walker Grabber
Series billet lifting magnets have extra power built in to penetrate
the air gaps for a more efficient, more certain grip every time. That
means they can handle more billets per lift, day in and day out,
eliminating multiple lifts per layer.
MILLMASTER SERIES
- MILLMASTER® "W" SERIES
Fabricated Case, Aluminum or Copper Coil Standard Field, Deep-Field, and Extra Deep-Field Models
- MILLMASTER® "D" SERIES
Steel Mill Magnets - Cast Case, Aluminum or Copper Coil Standard Field, Deep-Field, and Extra Deep-Field Models
COILMASTER SERIES
- COILMASTER SERIES
Magnetic lifting is the easiest, fastest and most economical method of handling coiled strip steel. Traditional mechanical lifting devices can damage several layers of in the process of gripping the coil, and damage can also take place when the coil is released. Properly designed lift magnets virtually eliminate the possibility of damage.
CUTTING TABLE MAGNETS
Special Purpose Scrap Handling and Track Sweeping
- CUTTING TABLE LIFTING SYSTEMS
Walker custom engineered magnetic lifting systems allow more efficient handling of plates, pieces and skeletons for your cutting table operations. Walker systems increase cutting operator speeds in many cases ranging from 65% to 400%. This efficiency yields greater output of cut parts.

BI-POLAR SERIES
Material Handling Bi-Polar Lift Magnets with Copper Coils
BI-POLAR SERIES Models 271,272
Bi-Polar magnets lift directly from the center of the load, so no aisle room is required to sling or maneuver a hook into the eye. Loads can be stacked as high as the crane allows.
Bi-Polar lift magnets can be used individually or in multiples with various types of
suspension systems. We engineer and supply the complete system, including power
supply, controls, battery backup unit and spreader beams.
