New EP-2000 Series Electro-Permanent Lifting Magnets Do Not Require an Emergency Back-Up Power Source in the Event of Power Failure

The New series of EP-2000 (Patented) Electro-Permanent magnets has been designed by Walker Magnetics to meet customer needs requiring a portable lifting magnet for use in steel service centers, steel processing plants, fabricating shops, burning table operations, machining shops and welding shops. They are to be used for lifting steel plates, parts and blocks.

Typically a magnet of this type has rectifiers and controllers as separate devices connected by cables to the magnet. The EP-2000 is the first magnet of its kind to have both rectifiers and controllers mounted directly on the magnet. The result is a more flexible, versatile, and safer magnet.

Since the EP-2000 is Electro-Permanent it only requires electricity to activate the magnet "ON" or "OFF". There are No mechanical parts that could accidentally stick". Once the magnet is "ON" the electricity can be disconnected indefinitely without ANY interruption to the holding power.

Additionally, the EP-2000 includes an interlock feature to prevent magnet de-energization when a steel plate or part is being lifted.

The EP-2000 is available in various sizes and can lift materials up to 12,000 pounds.
