Permanent Magnet   The permanent magnet is small, compact, lightweight, maintenance free and reliable.
Plus it offers an excellent performance for price.
Becouse the permanent magnet must be switched manually it is preferably used singly and not in a series.
A big advantage of the permanent magnet is that you don't need any costly switching equipment and wiring, or any electricity either. After all, the magnet works entirely independently of any source power.
In materials with an irregular surface or at a higher switching frequency electromagnets offer clear advantages.
